Burglary on Main road, Duston

Dear Resident

 

We are appealing for information about a burglary at a property on Main Rd and Duston.  The burglary happened on was between 11:59 pm 01/07/2025 - 08:00 am 09/07/2025.

Suspects unknown have broken into the IP's garage by forcing the metal door and removed an angle grinder, a wireless speaker and strimmer.

Then last night/this morning between 22:00 08/07/2025 and 8:00 am 09/07/2025 persons unknown have accessed a secure vehicle by forcing open the rear sliding door of a van to access the back of a van. Entered and removed tools.

Residential Burglary

  • Burglars often break in at the rear of properties. Ensure your rear garden is secure at all times with 1.8m perimeter fence/wall/gate and keep all gates locked
  • Make sure the front of your property is easily seen – fences and hedges should not be more than 1 metre high
  • Install dusk to dawn lighting above your front door
  • Keep your doors locked at all times – so many burglars just walk in – don’t make it easy for them!
  • If you’re not in the room, close the window
  • Make sure your house looks occupied, leave lights on when you’re out. Use timer switches for when you’re away
